Matt Rodriquez is 26 years old. He's been skateboarding since he was 10. To some, it may seem like just a childish hobby, but for Matt it's a gateway for artistic expression and the base of his career.

From paper to canvas, Matt has been creating art since he was a boy. But it wasn't until a skateboard company agreed to sponsor him that allowed him to fuse his love of skating and art into one combined medium.

Today Matt's dream of being a professional skateboarder is a reality but he's also a highly talented artist. Designing the decks of skateboards has been a hobby of Matt's since he was in high school. Now, it is part of his career and he's getting paid to do it. A lot of Matt's designs and graphics are based on his feelings of peace, tranquility and the spirit of life . . . all of which he finds while skateboarding.

Matt hopes one day to have his own company and the opportunity to express his art even further. So what some people may see as a just a piece of wood . . . Matt Rodriquez instead, sees as a blank canvas and an avenue to express himself.
